Classical-era composer Maddalena Laura Sirmen and contemporary “formidable composer” (Textura) Michelle Ross bring longing and lyricism to their works in reflection of their own times. The program closes with Franz Schubert’s monumental String Quintet in C Major, a mystical exploration of the complexity of the human condition.
